Welcome to this edition of The Lion. We celebrate outstanding success for our delegates who represented the British School at the annual CoMUN conference over the weekend. It is a pleasure to report many achievements for Team BSC in many areas that include individual awards, Exco recognition as well as winning the prestigious award for Social Service. This is an outstanding achievement. I am extremely proud of each and every one of our delegates for their tireless preparation, skill and determination and I thank Ms Mahum for her passion and commitment to MUN endeavours.
I must also thank our PTA who hosted a wonderful Movie and Quiz Night on Saturday. This was a lovely evening and it was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with parents and students from both the Junior and Senior Schools. I thank our PTA Committee and our super Quiz Master for a lovely evening! I must also congratulate the winning team for a job very well done!
Our annual Commerce Week has arrived and I am delighted with the range of activities that our Commerce Department and Commerce Society have organised throughout this week. These activities bring to life the areas of Accounting, Business Studies and Economics for students in all Key Stages, irrespective of whether they study these subjects or not. I am most grateful to Ms Tharange and her team for organising another successful week!
As I type, the set is being constructed for this year’s Senior School Production, Cole Porter’s timeless musical ‘Anything Goes’. This show will run between Thursday 22nd June and Saturday 24th June, with ‘curtain up’ at the Auditorium each evening at 7.00pm. This promises to be a most memorable production as our performers delight you with a number of energetic dance numbers and many much-loved Cole Porter melodies. I look forward to seeing you at the performances and I thank Mr Shane, Ms Shamistha and the entire cast and crew for the hard work and dedication over the course of many weeks of rehearsals.
I hope you enjoy this edition of The Lion. Have a wonderful weekend.
With my best wishes,
Simon Harwood
Deputy Principal (Head of Senior School)
