We are here to Help Every Step of the Way...
1. How do I submit an application for my child?
You can begin the process by completing our online enquiry form. Our Admissions Team will then guide you through the application, assessment, and interview steps.
2. What age groups and year levels do you accept students into?
We accept applications from Foundation Stage through to Senior School, depending on availability. Entry is possible in Term 1, Term 2, Term 3, or mid-year where spaces permit.
3. Does my child need to sit an entrance assessment?
Yes but limited. All applicants complete an age-appropriate assessment and/or a trial day, depending on the year group. This allows us to understand your child’s academic readiness and learning needs.
4. What curriculum does the school follow?
The British School in Colombo follows the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and A-Level qualifications, recognised by universities worldwide.
5. Do you offer school tours?
Yes. Families are welcome to book a personalised tour or attend one of our Open Days. You can request a visit through our enquiry form.

9. Do you offer learning support or SEN provision?
BSC’s capacity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) is limited. Admission will only be granted where the school is confident that the student’s needs can be met with the resources available at the time of application.
10. What are the school fees?
Our current fee structure, including tuition, registration, and other charges, is available here (link fee structure). You may also request fee information by contacting the Admissions Office.
11. Do you offer sibling priority?
Where possible, we prioritise applications from siblings of current students—but admission still depends on meeting academic and behavioural expectations.
12. Can my child join during the academic year?
Yes, mid-year admissions are possible where spaces exist and assessment criteria are met.
13. How will I know if my child has been accepted?
