Year 5 Residential Trip to Galle: Adventure, Growth and Unforgettable Memories

Our Year 5 Residential Trip to Galle was an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, learning, and personal growth.

Over two action-packed days, the children stepped well beyond their comfort zones. They learned to surf, explored the peaceful river on a boat safari, visited a cinnamon village, and hiked through the beautiful Kanneliya Rainforest. Along the way, they discovered Sri Lanka’s rich natural environment and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

More importantly, this trip gave the children the opportunity to grow in so many ways. They demonstrated increasing independence and responsibility as they managed their belongings, followed routines, and looked after themselves and one another. They showed resilience when trying new activities, teamwork as they supported and encouraged their friends, and confidence as they embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.

The residential also strengthened friendships and helped build new bonds across the year group. The laughter, encouragement, and shared experiences created a wonderful sense of connection and community.
