Year 6s have been learning about North American countries in their humanities lessons and this enabled them to learn about the countries in depth. They learned the significance of the United Nations' role and how the Sustainable Development Goals aim to end poverty, protect the earth's environment and climate, and ensure that all people can enjoy peace and prosperity.
Our students have arrived at the conclusion that it is absolutely necessary for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to be brought to the attention of as many people as possible. Year 6 learners think that if they inform everyone, it will be everyone's responsibility to act right away and find a solution to these problems. They are certain that raising awareness will result in a favourable change, and they believe that it would be amazing if children all over the world were aware of The Global Goals and began to contribute toward achieving them as they are the future.
The children worked together in groups today, discussing the major problems, some of the North American countries faced and thought creatively towards solving problems. There innovative thinking seems to bring hope for the future.
